MLS Students Publish Research in Q1 Journal “The 13th batch of Medical Laboratory Sciences students, Isuru Aravinda, Shashini Dharmasiri, and Chathurika Sewwandi, under the supervision of Dr. R. Karunaithas, published a research article titled “Population-Adjusted Cut-Off: A New Approach for Enhancing the Diagnostic Efficacy of Hematological Discrimination Formulae for Screening β-Thalassemia Trait” in the Q1 journal, Clinica Chimica Acta. The study introduces a population-adjusted cut-off approach, a novel initiative to enhance the performance of hematological discrimination formulae (HDF) in screening for β-Thalassemia trait across diverse populations.
