The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS) successfully conducted Exploring Career Pathways in the Pharmaceutical Industry seminar on 28 March 2026. The programme was organised to provide pharmacy students with valuable insights into career opportunities in the pharmaceutical sector.
The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Dr. (Mrs.) S. Sivasinthujah, followed by a series of informative sessions delivered by distinguished industry professionals. Mr. Chamara Diviyagahage (Production Department of the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation of Sri Lanka) discussed career prospects in pharmaceutical manufacturing and provided guidance on professional development within the industry. Mr. Chamara Galkanda (Regulatory Affairs Division of the National Medicines Regulatory Authority, Sri Lanka) delivered an engaging session on career opportunities in regulatory affairs, highlighting the growing importance of regulatory compliance in the pharmaceutical sector. Mr. Vimalarajah Muraleeson (Production and Packing Division of Sands Active) delivered a presentation on shared his expertise on diverse career pathways available to pharmacy graduates, with particular emphasis on opportunities in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The FAHS is proud that all these professionals are its alumni.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from academic staff members and students, fostering meaningful discussions on industry expectations, professional competencies, and emerging career trends.
